ELON MUSK: VARSITY CHEERLEADER FOR WHITE MALE GRIEVANCE

I'll take Mark Cuban any day.

This is in response to a recent Wall Street Journal article entitled Mark Cuban Enters Elon Musk’s Echoverse of Madness. (https://www.wsj.com/tech/mark-cuban-enters-elon-musks-echoverse-of-madness-403c9c48?mod=Searchresults_pos4&page=1). After listening to Mr Musk one time too many, I just had to get this off my chest. Here goes.

Mr. Musk's vision for American is a dystopian libertarianism populated by grieving White guys who are fighting to retain their privilege, including bashing DEI and whatever else liberals come up with. They know that they will never make more money than their parents, that the jobs that formerly utilized legacy hires are gone, and that they actually have to work and compete for good jobs and pay. They are pissed to the bone being bested in the job market by women and minorities, who they blame for being advantaged by DEI, even though the folks who are now “taking their jobs”—from their perspective—are more qualified than they are. Their DEI- bashing is simply a smokescreen for their illegitimate grieving. They take succor in X and other online forums, where their grudges go unchallenged. Rather than investigating who is really behind their misfortune—consolidated corporate power aided and abetted by both Republicans and Democrats—they stew in their own crap, mistaking their own fetid smells for that of Others. I feel for these guys, taken as they are by cranks like Musk and Donald Trump and Peter Thiel, who use these sullen White guys for cannon fodder to further enrich themselves.
